How To Use Words To Meme Your Vision Into Existence
Introducing “Concept Masonry”—the magical art and science of naming and popularizing concepts that manifest the future of our dreams
Imagine a world where everyone recognizes their inherent power to shape the reality around them. A world where we are not just passive recipients of the status quo, but active participants in creating the future we want to live in.
This is the essence of “Concept Masonry”—my newly coined name for
the art of creating & popularizing foundational concepts that define & shape our reality.
Concept Masonry is a powerful tool that has been employed by visionary leaders throughout history to usher in new eras of human progress; but in today’s world, so many of us have been grown to think we lack this power.
But what if we could democratize Concept Masonry, making it accessible to everyone, and empowering individuals to actively shape the future?
In this piece, I will walk you through the power of Concept Masonry, and how it can be used to lead to a Golden Age for humanity.
The Role of “Foundational Concepts” in Shaping Reality
“Foundational concepts” are abstract ideas whose popularization helps manifest a Golden Age.
Throughout history, Concept Masons have introduced and popularized foundational concepts that have significantly influenced tech, culture, and society.
These concepts often serve as catalysts for change, inspiring people to act or think differently.
Here are some examples of Concept Masons throughout history:
Martin Luther King Jr. 💭
Foundational Concept: "A Dream" of a "Beloved Community"
Impact: Inspired the Civil Rights Movement and continues to influence social justice initiatives worldwide.
Karl Marx 📚
Foundational Concept: “Communism”
Impact: His ideas have shaped the political landscape of the 20th century and influenced numerous revolutions, political systems, and social movements.
Tim Berners-Lee 🌐
Foundational Concept: “World Wide Web”
Impact: Revolutionized the way people access and share information globally.
Rachel Carson 🍃
Foundational Concept: “Environmental conservation”
Impact: Her book "Silent Spring" contributed to the modern environmental movement and led to the establishment of the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Satoshi Nakamoto ₿
Foundational Concept: “Bitcoin” and “decentralized digital currency”
Impact: Revolutionized financial systems and inspired the development of various cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.
Buckminster Fuller 🌍
Foundational Concept: “Geodesic Dome” and "Spaceship Earth"
Impact: Encouraged sustainable design and resource efficiency, and influenced the fields of architecture, engineering, and urban planning.
Ada Lovelace 👩💻
Foundational Concept: “Algorithmic computing”
Impact: Her pioneering ideas on algorithmic processes and machine learning continue to shape the field of computer science today.
These historical Concept Masons have played crucial roles in shaping our world through the creation and popularization of new ideas.
By naming and popularizing these concepts, we make it easier for people to talk about them, express desires for more of them, and create gatherings, funding institutions, and other structures to support their growth.
We have to remember that every career profession, musical genre, organizational structure, etc didn’t exist until someone memed it into existence.
Can you imagine a reality in which the following foundational concepts weren’t named and popularized?
“Hip Hop” 🎤—which has birthed a multi-billion dollar global industry of music, fashion, etc and inspired more nascent genres like K-Pop.
“Jazz” 🎺—which has been foundational to so many of the most popular music genres today.
“Limited Liability Corporation” 🏢—which is one of the most popular ways to structure a company.
As our understanding of the world evolves, new Concept Masons will continue to emerge, introducing innovative ideas and concepts that have the potential to reshape our reality.
Democratizing Concept Masonry: Empowering Individuals to Shape the Future
To democratize Concept Masonry, it is essential to make the skills and knowledge needed to create and popularize foundational concepts widely accessible. This can be achieved through education, open-source resources, and fostering a culture of collaboration and shared learning.
By making Concept Masonry accessible to all, we empower individuals to imagine and build the future they desire, rather than passively accepting the world as it is. This not only leads to a more vibrant and diverse society but also increases the chances of realizing a Golden Age for humanity, as more people actively work towards creating a better future.

As Steve Jobs once said,
"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."
Jobs is pointing to how humans have the power to shape the world around them—to be Concept Masons.
By embracing our power to shape reality, we can work together to create a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
It’s time for us to recognize the potential within ourselves and others to create and popularize foundational concepts that can lead to a Golden Age for humanity.
It’s time for you to grab your magic wand and unleash your power as a Concept Mason.
But beyond stepping into your own power, let’s help others step into theirs.
Whether it's through education, open-source resources, or fostering collaboration, let's make Concept Masonry accessible to everyone and empower individuals to imagine and build the future they desire.
As we become aware of our power to shape reality, we can unleash the collective genius of humanity to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time and create a world that is more just, sustainable, and vibrant for generations to come.
So embrace your power as a Concept Mason and help democratize this powerful art, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing story of human progress.
